 Topic - Nuclear Energy

Modern literacy has always meant being able to read and write in the media forms of the day, whatever they may be.  Just being able to read is not sufficient.

Goal:  Introduce controversial topic of nuclear energy to spur conversation and inquiry.  Use technology to access text in range of forms.


  • "Movie Mutant Gives a Face to our Nuclear Fears" (NPR audio story, moving from topic to issues surrounding the topic) and podcast of Godzilla from NPR
  • Use talk to construct deep comprehension, think and talk between texts, and discern and discuss varied perspectives
