Storing Images
From Your Camera or Hard Drive to a Project Folder and/or to a Web Photo Album

If you are a Mac user, you are probably familiar with iPhoto as your Photo Album. If you are a Windows user you may not even have a photo album installed on your computer. We are going to recommend and teach Picasa Web Albums in this workshop because it is a great online photo album where you can store and access your photos from any computer and your mobile phone.

1. Create a Project Folder on Your Computer Desktop to Store Images from Web Searches

A named project folder represents organization in any project endeavor.
Keep yourself organized and teach your students the same so that you won't have images scattered all over your computer desktop like a messy room.

  1. In a PC or Mac simply do a right click to create a New Folder. (Note- if using a Mac trackpad, just press Contol key and the trackpad clicker to
    make a right click.)
  2. A new untitled folder will appear on the desktop. Click in the space highlighted and name your project folder.
  3. You may store your project folder on your desktop while gathering and sorting photos.
  4. When you are finished you may store the folder in your Pictures folder on your hard drive.
